What To Expect
Looking for a highly motivated Engineering Intern to join the Factory Planning Team at Tesla.

This role would be an opportunity to work on projects across the complete Gigafactory with various teams on solving cross functional issues driving critical efficiency related decisions and tangible improvements and benefits for the organization.

What You'll Do- Reporting to Manager Engineering Factory Planning
- Will support setting the right priorities in an environment with many competing needs associated to factory design. Focus will lay on the Vehicle Manufacturing & Powertrain Shops
- The role requires problem solving skills, exceptional teamwork, and communication skills.
- The primary focus for this role will be supporting the Factory Integration Team to integrate equipment and production lines across the factory, managing timelines on upcoming changes and tracking critical KPIs for the factory.
- You will support on factory master layout design, permitting process, material flow, production lines, building design through all major project phases including design, equipment specifications and selection, procurement, construction/installation, integration, commissioning, buyoff and start of production.
- Generate presentation content for project status update
What You'll Bring- Currently working towards a BS, MS, or advanced degree in a relevant engineering program such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management, Process Engineering or related degree
- Strong bias in success in project management, communications, influencing others, cross-functional team interaction, and driving results on time.
- Excellent organization, problem solving, tactical thinking, and time management skills.
- A detail-oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills.
- Solid grasp on engineering fundamentals
- Preferably experience and/or knowledge in Vehicle, Powertrain and/or Cell Manufacturing
- Motivated, active collaborator
- Working knowledge of technical software: CAD, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of planning and building an electric vehicle plant
- Proven interest in Tesla's mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy, through extracurricular activities, academic projects, passion projects, or equivalent experiences.
- Fluent in English, preferably also in German
