About the Position: Serves as a Health Technician (Chiropractic) in the Chiropractic Clinic, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany.

Duties
  • Initiates intake of new patients into the clinic by taking and recording vital signs, assembling a new patient record with appropriate forms, and assisting patients in completion of questionnaires and other documentation.
  • With direction from the chiropractor, provides treatments/procedures to include ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, cold, hydrotherapy, and other procedures
  • With the chiropractor's direction, may assist in providing basic information on nutrition, ergonomics, proper posture, and exercise.
  • Coordinates and communicates with other clinics and staff as needed to ensure proper coordination of care.
  • Requests medical records, x-rays, and test results from appropriate clinics and hospital departments.
  • Maintains adequate supplies in the treatment rooms and supply room and orders supplies as necessary to maintain prescribed quantities
  • Assists with administrative activities, such as maintaining documentation regarding records requests, records releases, supplies ordered, new patients scheduled; compiling data for reports; and receives telephone calls, patients, and visitors.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Qualifications for Health Technician (Chiropractic):

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining patient records; performing administrative duties, such as generating reports and ordering supplies; and assisting with medical treatment and procedures as directed by treating medical provider. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). (Note: Your resume must support this experience)

Education: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position, such as Medical Terminology, Human Anatomy, Medical Ethics, Healthcare Administration, Administrative Medical Assistant, Medical Assisting, Medical Records, Nutrition, Kinesiology, Exercise Science. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must provide a copy of your transcripts with your application)

  • Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
  • U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.

  • If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler, but for the child's age, is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation , then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI and DoDM
  • Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
  • Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI volume 1250.
  • For positions in a foreign country, that country's laws or international agreements may have a direct impact on the ability of an employee's same sex domestic partner or spouse to accompany the employee and receive certain benefits.
