IMMEI, located at the Medical Faculty Campus of Bonn University Clinic, provides an exceptional environment for cutting-edge research. Our state-of-the-art facilities offer a platform for collaboration and innovation. The working group is led by Prof. Dr. Zeinab Abdullah ( ), who has substantial experience and expertise in the field. IMMEI is comprised of 6 working groups and approx. 30 scientific and non-scientific staff ( ). AG Abdullah primarily studies chronic liver inflammation and its impact on anti-viral immune responses and tissue regeneration. The group utilises a diverse mixture of
in vitro
and
in vivo
methodologies to perform basic and applied immunological research. This position will be based within the AG Abdullah working group but you will be integrated and expected to work as part of the larger IMMEI research infrastructure.

Activities And Responsibilities

  • Work with transgenic mice (Genotyping, husbandry, organ processing, injections)
  • Support scientists with experiments
  • Help in the technical training of PhD and Masters students
  • Cell culture
  • Establishment of SOPs and maintenance of core lab resources
  • Perform flow cytometric profiling of immune populations

Qualification profile

  • Completed training as BTA or biological laboratory technician.
  • FELASA B certification (or equivalent) qualification for animal work
  • Experience with in vivo techniques (I.V, S.C)
  • Standard molecular biology techniques
  • Flow cytometry experience
  • Proficient in cell culture
  • Professional written and spoken English
  • Professional written and spoken German

Desired Qualifications (not Mandatory But Preferred)

  • Experience with mouse colony maintenance
  • Experience with processing and handling of human samples
  • Familiarity with in vitro immunological assays
