Legal Counsel

// YOUR MISSION AT PICUS

• Transactional Leadership. You will independently drive and manage venture capital investments and other transactions globally, with a focus on Europe, the U.S., India, and Latin America. This will include helping with term sheet negotiations, conducting and managing due diligence, reviewing, negotiating and drafting a wide range of agreements and working with external legal counsel on the same. In doing so, you will work closely with our investment team.

• Shaping the Legal Function: Together with our General Counsel, you will shape and build the legal backbone of a global venture capital firm. That will include building out and improving our transactional and legal processes and standards, including by creating, maintaining, and improving standardized documents and agreements.

• Legal Sparring Partner: You will be a legal sparring partner to our investment team and other internal functions (e.g., Finance and HR) on a wide range of transactional, legal, corporate, compliance, and regulatory matters.

• Portfolio Support: You will work with our portfolio companies on legal-related questions.

Personality:

• You are resilient and your ability to prioritize allows you to deliver high-quality work and advice while balancing a number of transactions and other tasks at the same time.

• You are eager to learn about new things and are open to moving outside of your (legal) comfort zone, e.g., by learning to handle transactions in foreign markets and jurisdictions.

Qualifications:

• You are a fully-qualified lawyer (German or U.S.) with a strong academic and professional track-record, eager to apply your expertise in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

• You have at least 1.5 years of hands-on experience in corporate transactions, ideally at a top-tier law firm or a venture capital firm.

• You bring deep expertise in drafting and negotiating venture capital and/or private equity transaction agreements.

• You communicate clearly and effectively—whether you're aligning internal stakeholders, negotiating deal terms, or managing external counsel.

• You are fluent in both German and English.
