Your central role

  • Provide legal support and governance oversight for our international subsidiaries, including integration of newly acquired entities such as NEXT Insurance Inc. (USA).
  • Advise on cross-border corporate and regulatory matters, including board structures, reserved matters, intercompany agreements and reinsurance-related topics.
  • Implement and develop our group-wide legal and governance standards (e.g. Management View, group policies) in coordination with local legal teams and MRAS Legal (USA).
  • Act as functional ("dotted-line") manager for selected Heads of Legal in international entities, guiding them on group priorities and governance practices.
  • Collaborate closely with senior management, group functions and the global ERGO Legal Community to ensure consistent legal alignment across jurisdictions.

Your profile

  • Law degree with international qualification (e.g. JD, LL.B./LL.M., Bar Admission) or fully qualified German lawyer with strong international orientation.
  • Proven experience in corporate governance, insurance/reinsurance regulation, or cross-border regulatory matters within an international environment.
  • Prior in-house experience in a comparable legal or governance role, ideally in a multinational group, is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written); additional languages, particularly German, are a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a matrix organisation and across functional reporting lines.
