The Role

The
Head of Global Compliance
will report directly to the General Counsel and lead a team of regional compliance officers and specialists worldwide. This is a strategic and highly visible leadership position responsible for setting the direction of the global compliance programme, ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously enhance the global compliance management system in line with international best practices (ISO 37301, US DOJ Guidelines, etc.).
  • Advise senior management and the Board on compliance strategy, risk areas, and regulatory developments.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance policies and procedures globally.
  • Manage anti-corruption, antitrust, trade compliance, data protection, and ESG-related compliance programmes.
  • Supervise investigations into potential breaches of law or company policy and ensure appropriate remediation.
  • Foster a strong culture of ethics and integrity through training, communication, and awareness initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal audit, HR, and legal teams to ensure an integrated risk management approach.
  • Represent the compliance function externally with regulators, partners, and key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified lawyer (Germany or another major jurisdiction) or equivalent compliance professional background.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in compliance or legal roles within an international corporate or industrial environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing global teams and influencing at executive level.
  • In-depth knowledge of anti-bribery, competition, export control, and data protection laws.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and interpersonal skills with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Fluent in English and German; additional languages advantageous.
