Dom here, founder of Generalyst and avid portfolio careerist. I'm hiring for a cool position for someone who's currently studying and wants to be a founder in the future.But first, context: I'm a serial entrepreneur (feels weird to write this, but it's technically true) currently building a program for those who don't want to specialize.I believe the future belongs to generalists, and I hate the fact that our educational system funnels us towards specialization. It feels like the ideal career is one where you pick one thing and do that for the rest of your life.That sounds incredibly boring.Even worse, I believe it's a terrible way to prepare for the future. We don't know that the future holds. Your specialization may or may not exist.Whatwillalways be relevant is the ability to adapt, to solve problems, to think critically.That's what generalists do: they pair meta-skills with a broad foundation of hard skills.The best place to learn those? Early-stage startups. Simply because there, you have no choice but to wear many hats – there are more jobs to be done than people to do said jobs.Coincidentally, startups tend to not have any hiring infrastructure – which makes this the perfect fit for a recruitment offering.We bring those two sides together at Generalyst.But that's not what this job is about.It's about helping me (Dominik) bring the message above to the world. I've been writing a newsletter for three years now, posting regularly on LinkedIn, and love that part of content creation.What I'm not very good at is to pull my camera out and take photos/videos. Nor editing them. I simply hate doing it.But I know thatsomewhereout there, there's someone that thoroughly enjoys this process – and/or wants to get really good at that.On top of the newsletter and LinkedIn, I want to add more content channels: short-form and long-form video, maybe short-form text, eventually a podcast.I can't do this on my own.Here's my offer:I'm looking for a social media intern that wants to spend 2-3 days a week in a WeWork in Berlin with me. That membership is covered, of course.You'll get to spend lots of time with me and learn from an experienced entrepreneur and writer what the day-to-day looks like. This might be helpful for you on your career journey.What I'll ask you to do:Record & edit videos of me / candidates / clients → to create a total output of 20 short-form and 4 long-form videos / monthHelp out with other social media / newsletter efforts (ie. newsletter scheduling, creatives for LinkedIn, repurposing posts for other platforms)Potentially help out with other projects across my portfolio (Generalyst, Personal Productivity OS, [redacted])In return, I can offer you:behind-the-scenes access to bootstrapping a startupa front-row seat to some of the most exciting startups in Germanyas well as to crazy cool candidatesa playground to work with a somewhat established personal brand (~5k followers across platforms, >1k newsletter subscribers)a WeWork membership that you can use as much as you'd likea modest monthly salary (~1k EUR)If you're a student looking to found a company, or looking to get really good at personal brand building, this is for you.
