Position Title:
Maintenance Planning Head

(Willing to relocate to Cairo, Egypt)

Job Purpose

The Maintenance Planning Head is responsible for leading and optimizing all maintenance planning and scheduling activities to ensure the reliability, availability, and efficiency of plant machinery, equipment, and facilities. This role focuses on minimizing downtime, maximizing production capacity, and driving continuous improvement through effective preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop, implement, and continuously improve the overall maintenance strategy, including Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), and Corrective Maintenance (CM) programs.
  2. Plan, schedule, and control all maintenance activities, including routine maintenance, planned shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency repairs.
  3. Align maintenance plans with production and operational objectives to minimize downtime and avoid disruptions to plant operations.
  4. Lead the planning and coordination of major plant overhauls, equipment upgrades, and capital maintenance projects with minimal impact on production schedules.
  5. Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of spare parts, tools, and materials required for maintenance activities.
  6. Monitor equipment performance and reliability metrics; analyze failures and recommend improvements to maintenance practices, systems, or equipment design.
  7. Prepare, manage, and control the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high reliability standards.
  8. Ensure all maintenance planning and execution activities comply with safety standards, environmental regulations, and recognized industry best practices.

Job RequirementsEducation

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.

Professional Certifications (Preferred)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Six Sigma Certification
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification

Industry Experience

  • Extensive experience working in
    steel plant operations

Years of Experience

  • 15–20 years of relevant maintenance planning and industrial experience

  • English: Mandatory
