Operating in a fast-paced, startup environment, our highly skilled team thrives on short development cycles, turning groundbreaking ideas into deployed solutions.As a Senior mechanical design engineer, you will be a significant contributor to our mechanical design team and a key player responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of our battery and charger products. With our world-class team, currently >20 team members, you will play a key role in pushing the boundaries of sustainable mobility.What is your Day-to-Day Mission:Design & Development: Lead the mechanical design for new products and components using CAD software (Catia v5 is mandatory).Analysis & Calculations: Perform engineering analyses and calculations for critical design aspects. These include i.e. critical tolerance stack ups, thermal analysis and ultra-lightweight design.Prototyping & De-Risking: Initiate and support the prototyping and early testing to de- risk the key mechanical concepts and designsProject Participation: Serve as the technical lead on major projects, coordinating activities with cross-functional teams (Electrical, Manufacturing, Supply chain)Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including detailed drawings, BOMs and design review presentations.Supplier Management: Collaborate with external suppliers and manufacturers to optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA), ensuring high-quality and cost-effective production.Mentorship: Provide guidance, training, and technical support to less experienced mechanical engineers.Standards & Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality procedures.What you bring to the team:Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's degree preferred).Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design and product development, ideally within a relevant industry (e.g., consumer electronics, aerospace, medical devices, automotive).Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in Catia v5.
