For this new professorship, we are seeking an individual with a deep understanding of the multiple challenges and opportunities businesses face in today's evolving world (e.g. digitization and technological change, demography). The successful candidate will have a comprehensive view of how companies can best adapt to new frameworks, technologies, markets, and customers and is committed to excellence in research, teaching and knowledge transfer in areas related to transformation, e.g. ecosystem and organization models, strategy development, capability, sustainability issues. The professorship will place particular emphasis on addressing the following questions:
- How do technological advancements, particularly AI, impact corporate transformation, and what role can leaders play in ensuring their success?
- How can leaders equip themselves with the necessary skills to lead during technological disruption?
The successful candidate is expected to take over a leading role in shaping the interdisciplinary transformation cluster and to cooperate closely with other chairs of the faculty.
We particularly value candidates:
- Who have an interdisciplinary background with a proven track record of applying their cross-disciplinary skills to achieve business objectives.
- Who have a strong commitment to working across disciplinary boundaries.
Applicants should have passed a positive evaluation either as junior/assistant professor via "Habilitation" or equivalent qualifications, a proof of suitability for university teaching (Master & Doctoral level) and engage in international academic networks. HHL has set a priority of increasing the number of international scholars among its faculty. It actively pursues a policy of diversity and gender equality.
Interested candidates for this Professorship should submit their application via our application tool to the Dean Prof. Dr. Tobias Dauth. The application should include a motivation letter, CV, a teaching statement including evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g., student evaluations or teaching awards), a research statement including a list of publications, an overview of knowledge transfer activities, and references. We intend the successful candidate to assume the role latest in 2025.
