Director, Data Engineering

Position Overview:

Lead the team building Intapp's cloud-native data platform. Your mandate is to set the technical direction and design highly scalable, distributed infrastructure that underpins high-throughput, low-latency, and highly reliable applications. In this role, you will partner closely with product and engineering teams to translate vision into a clear roadmap and executable plan.

You will grow and manage a globally distributed engineering team, driving code quality, system performance, and service availability across the stack. Day to day, you'll collaborate with stakeholders to ensure technical strategy aligns with business priorities.

You bring deep expertise in distributed systems and modern data processing architectures, a strong foundation in at least one backend language, and fluency with cloud infrastructure—ideally Azure. With over a decade of software engineering experience, including at least five years in technical leadership of globally distributed teams, you communicate clearly, make sound technical decisions, and balance speed with stability. Experience in financial/professional services or AI/data platforms is a plus.

What you'll do:

• Drive the technical strategy and execution of Intapp's data engineering initiatives
• Define architecture and guide technology choices for data-intensive applications
• Mentor engineers and develop the next generation of technical leaders
• Champion high standards for code quality, testing, deployment, and operational excellence
• Oversee sprint planning, resource allocation, and the management of technical debt

What you'll need:

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering leadership roles
• Deep expertise in distributed systems and cloud-native architectures
• Proven track record of hiring, mentoring, and retaining top engineering talent
• Metrics-driven approach, ensuring teams deliver with high quality and consistently meet availability SLAs
• Focus on tools, processes, and practices that improve engineering quality and velocity
• Demonstrated success in delivering enterprise-grade software at scale
• Experience with large-scale data processing and analytics
• Hands-on expertise with Python, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Snowflake, Azure, and OpenSearch
• Fluent in English
