NOTE FROM THE TEAM

We're looking for a pragmatic, business-oriented Commercial Legal Counsel who is excited about Clue's mission and eager to support our growth. This role requires an adaptable, hands-on lawyer with strong commercial instincts, sound judgement, and the ability to work cross-functionally with teams across Clue. Beyond providing legal review, you will be a true partner to the business, helping structure deals, spotting opportunities and risks early, and ensuring that Clue's commercial activities are both compliant and strategically aligned. • You are a proactive, structured legal professional with a strong interest in commercial work, partnerships, B2B business development, and/or health tech.
• You enjoy working close to the business and thrive in fast-paced, product-driven environments.
• You bring a balance of strategic thinking and practical execution, and you're comfortable providing clear, actionable advice.
• You collaborate easily across teams, take initiative, and enjoy supporting both strategic and operational commercial decisions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Act as a key member of Clue's Legal Team, supporting the business in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements (including partnership, vendor, B2B, research, and marketing contracts).
• Advise cross-functional teams—including Partnerships, Marketing, Product, Operations, and Medical—on commercial law issues and contract strategy.
• Provide guidance on international commercial legal questions relevant to our business model and market expansion.
• Work closely with our in-house data privacy specialist to ensure commercial activities and partnerships align with global data protection requirements.
• Support potential financing, strategic transactions, or M&A activities.

WHAT YOU BRING

• You are a fully qualified lawyer with a focus on commercial and contract law with at least 8+ years of professional experience, ideally including in-house experience and comfortable/licensed with German law.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills with excellent judgment and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to manage legal issues across multiple jurisdictions.
• Ideally, experience working in a tech or startup environment—or at minimum, an entrepreneurial mindset and curiosity about mobile app development and digital health.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken; German is a plus.
