Quality & Supplier Development Engineer (m/f/d)

Your Role

We are seeking a highly motivated 
Quality & Supplier Development Engineer
 to strengthen our supply chain and ensure the highest quality standards across our international production partners. You will be the crucial link between our engineering and production teams and our external suppliers, driving process excellence and conformity.

Your mission

• Global Supplier Audits: Lead and execute regular supplier audits and on-site visits (mandatory travel requirement of approximately 25% of the time) to ensure quality, compliance, and process alignment across the supply chain
• Quality Assurance: Ensure supplier compliance with quality management systems, particularly ISO 9001 standards or similar regulatory frameworks (e.g., IATF Experience with AS 9100 is a plus
• Supplier Qualification & Management: Act as the technical contact for key suppliers, leading qualification, development, and ongoing performance management
• SCAR & RCA: Manage the Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) process and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for major quality issues
• Production Process Excellence and Compliance: Deeply engage with and assess supplier production processes to identify trends, bottlenecks, optimize efficiency, and minimize non-conformities
• Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging tools and methodologies. Knowledge of the Lean Six Sigma approach is a plus

Your profile

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in international supplier management, quality assurance, or production engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time for supplier visits and audits.
• Technical Background: A degree or technical background is mandatory, ideally in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (non-chemistry focused).
• Quality Standards: Proven working knowledge and experience with the ISO 9001 quality management system or comparable standards.
• Language Skills: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. Proficiency in German (ideally B2 level) is essential for communication with key regional suppliers and internal teams. Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
• Industry Knowledge (Plus): Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and related industry standards (e.g., safety, testing) is a significant advantage.
• Work Style: Highly analytical, proactive, self-driven, and a skilled communicator.
