The Opportunity

We are seeking a technically strong, commercially aware Application Engineer to join our growing team and play a pivotal role in advancing PFASuiki's breakthrough water treatment technology from concept to deployment. This is a hands-on, client-facing role at the intersection of engineering, product development, and sales - ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex treatment challenges, designing and executing feasibility studies, and supporting the translation of innovation into scalable, real-world solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Application Development

·      Serve as the technical authority during client engagements, translating complex water and wastewater treatment challenges into robust engineering solutions.

·      Design and execute feasibility studies and pilot trials, from experimental planning to data interpretation, building the case for scale-up and full-scale implementation.

·      Lead process design activities, including mass and energy balances, hydraulic and process calculations, and development of PFDs, P&IDs, and technical documentation.

·      Evaluate and adapt PFASuiki's electrochemical oxidation systems to specific site and application requirements, working closely with R&D and engineering teams on product configuration and performance optimisation.

Cross-Functional Interface & Solution Delivery

·      Act as the key technical bridge between sales, product development, and engineering, ensuring that client requirements are fully understood, technically validated, and aligned with commercial strategy.

·      Collaborate with sales teams during pre-sales activities, providing technical input into proposals, bids, and client presentations, and ensuring all technical risks, assumptions, and constraints are clearly defined.

·      Support the transition from feasibility through to demonstration and commercial deployment, ensuring design intent, performance expectations, and regulatory requirements are maintained.

·      Contribute to system and process hazard assessments (e.g., HAZOP, HAZID) and safety reviews to ensure solutions meet the highest operational and compliance standards.

Market & Product Development Support

·      Provide technical insights to inform product roadmaps and system upgrades, feeding back client needs and emerging application trends into product development.

·      Analyse competitor technologies and application approaches to identify differentiation opportunities and support innovation.

·      Assist with the preparation of grant proposals, collaborative R&D bids, and technical documentation for funding and regulatory submissions.

Experience & Qualifications

·      B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related process engineering discipline.

·      Minimum 5+ years' experience in the design, operation, or evaluation of water, wastewater, or waste treatment systems.

·      Demonstrable track record of executing feasibility studies, pilot-scale projects, and supporting technology scale-up into commercial environments.

·      At least 3 years' client-facing experience, ideally in a commercial or go-to-market context, providing technical support and solution design.

·      Strong process design skills, including mass balance, hydraulics, and P&ID development.

·      Proficiency with relevant engineering and design software (e.g., MS Office, CAD, Visio).

·      Experience in early-stage or growth-phase technology companies is advantageous.

·      Willingness to travel to client sites, partner facilities, and industry events as required.
