Job Description

The Fashion – Product Design – Assistant supports the design and development process of apparel, accessories, or lifestyle products from concept to production. This role involves assisting senior designers in research, sketching, material selection, sampling, and coordination with suppliers and manufacturers.

The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about fashion trends, materials, and craftsmanship. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fashion industry, working closely with design, merchandising, and production teams to bring innovative products to market.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation of fashion concepts, sketches, and technical drawings.
  • Support the senior designer in developing seasonal collections and product lines.
  • Research market trends, fabrics, colors, and competitor products to support design direction.
  • Help prepare mood boards, color palettes, and design presentations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers for sample production and material sourcing.
  • Organize and maintain product samples, design archives, and material libraries.
  • Review and provide feedback on prototypes and production samples.
  • Assist in preparing specification sheets (tech packs) and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Support the communication between design, merchandising, and production teams.
  • Contribute ideas to improve product functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • 0–3 years of experience in fashion or product design (internship experience acceptable).
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CLO 3D.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, materials, and production processes.
  • Excellent sense of color, proportion, and detail.
  • Knowledge of current fashion trends and consumer preferences.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Creative problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
  • Passion for sustainability and innovation in design is a plus.
