Let’s create a greener future together.We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Developer with Backgound in Bio-/Cheminformatician who combines scientific expertise with strong data engineering and software development skills. You will develop the core biological and chemical logic of our discovery platform — linking biodata from genomes to chemical structures, implement software modules and AI/ML-powered analytics, drive software architecture and pipeline development.TasksDevelop and maintain a cloud-based biocompound discovery platformDesign and implement data flows from internal and external sourcesUtilize AI and machine learning techniques to integrate and analyse multiomics data to functional properties of moleculesStay on top of the latest advancements in software engineering principles, platform technologies, AI/ML to continually improve the platformEnsure the platform is scalable, secure, and user-friendlyCollaborate with biologists, chemists, chem-/bioinformaticians and data scientists to integrate their insights into the platformIdentify and develop discovery services for customers, leading to paid collaboration projects or licensing opportunities for discovered compoundsIntegrate data and learning from high-throughput validations in the lab environment into the platformRequirements5+ years of full-stack software development experience with a background in biotechnology, bioinformatics, or biologyProven experience as a software developer and product owner in complex B2B software or services in an agile (Scrum) environmentStrong programming skills in Python, Java, or C++Proficiency in data engineering and mainatining database using e.g. SQL, Databricks, Airflow, Nextflow and ETL / ELT frameworksStrong understanding of data analysis libraries (Pandas, NumPy)Experience developing and deploying algorithms, especially those handling biological or chemical datasetsExperience integrating AI/ML & LLM models to annotate unstructured biological data and link it into a knowledge graph (e.g. Neo4j)Experience with cloud technologies such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure, and with containerization tools like DockerKnowledge of development tools and version control systems, particularly Jira, Confluence, GitHub or GitLab(Optional) Familiarity with data visualization libraries (Plotly, Matplotlib, or Bokeh)(Optional) Familiarity with bioinformatics workflows, data standards (e.g., FASTA, GenBank, SDF), and biological databasesSoft skillsEntrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and developing new opportunities to improve the platformExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesAgile and hands-on mindsetStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independentlyInterested?If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, we’d love to hear from you Reach out to us with your application – no extensive documents required.
