The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg, Germany is the largest solar research institute in Europe. With a staff of about 1400, we are committed to promoting a sustainable, economic, secure and socially just energy supply system based on renewable energy sources. We contribute to this through our main research areas of energy provision, energy distribution, energy storage and energy utilization. Through outstanding research results, successful industrial projects, spin-off companies and global collaborations, we are shaping the sustainable transformation of the energy system. The team "Electrically conductive adhesives" is part of the "Photovoltaic Modules" department. The mission of our team is to interconnect high efficiency solar cells such as heterojunction, shingle or tandem solar cells, using conductive adhesives. We collaborate with numerous industrial partners to realize novel module technologies using conductive adhesives. In the projects, we investigate the material and joint properties as well as the processes to successfully use the adhesives. For our team "Electrically conductive adhesives" we are looking for a student assistant with the opportunity to write the bachelor thesis on the topic "Influence of the curing of solar cell interconnections with conductive adhesives" for the next possible date. **What you will do** - You find correlations between process temperature in the manufacture of solar cell interconnects with conductive adhesives (ECAs) and PV module performance. - You conduct literature research, experiment planning, sample preparation and analysis in the laboratory. - You evaluate the results and present them in writing in your thesis. **What you bring to the table** - You are studying materials science, engineering, natural sciences or a comparable field. - You have first experiences in laboratory work during your studies. - Knowledge of solar cell and module technology is an advantage, but not a requirement. - You plan and complete tasks independently and with high quality. - You value and take up the opinions of your colleagues and build trusting relationships. - The handling of MS Office is self-evident for you. - You have a good command of German and have already successfully demonstrated your good English skills. **What you can expect** - You will work with one of the most popular employers on a par with the best. - Open-minded colleagues are happy to welcome new talents into their ranks. - We offer flexible working time models and give you the opportunity to work from home at times. - We also foster a cooperative working atmosphere and open communication. - We value equal opportunities and allow room for diversity. - You can participate in attractive sports and health programs and after-work activities.
