With Germany being the core of European auto manufacturing, its only natural it should also be a pioneer in scaling up battery cell manufacturing. At Northvolt we are excited to make this happen, and we have recently announced that Heide, Schleswig-Holstein, will be the location of our German Gigafactory. With Hamburg as our current hub we are now bringing together a stellar team of individuals, who are equally excited, and who jointly represent the skills needed for such an ambitious project. This certainly includes a senior finance leader which is what we are currently searching for. **About the job** As Director of Business Control for Drei and Northvolts German operations you will be a critical member of the management team, and you will bring a finance perspective to the the full set of tasks, focusing on planning, execution and follow up. The size of our current operation is still modest, with day-to-day accounting outsourced, and hence the recently kicked off investment project will be very much in focus. As the project and team expands, the Director of business control will take ownership of establishing local routines fulfilling reporting and accounting requirements, both from a local and from a group perspective. Over time you will build and develop the local finance team. In establishing the financing structure, you will work shoulder-to-shoulder with the Corporate finance function, and in many other areas you will work together with the Group Finance function who provide expertise in areas such as IFRS, treasury and tax. Our organisational setup is matrix-like, and you will act both as the finance business partner to the Executive manager for Drei, and as extension of the central CFO-organisation. **Key responsibilities include but are not limited to**: - Lead the financial follow up of our investment project, which is both multi-year, and multi-billion USD - Keep a clear-eyed perspective on financing, spend, profitability & working capital to secure long-term value creation - Participate in reviewing and refining the business case as we progress in the overall strategy - Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, both as part of commercial negotiations and in dialogue with government representatives for topics including grants and permitting - Contribute as a member of the senior management team covering all parts of Northvolts future operations in Germany - Be the point contact for Finance, and set up local routines, fulfilling both local and group requirements in accounting and reporting. Skills & Requirements In order to succeed in this role we believe you have: - 5-10 years of experience in Finance and/or controlling positions. Probably you have worked for one of the "big four", and also led others in such tasks. - Sector-specific knowledge in construction, manufacturing, or adjacent industries - Experience from project finance or other financing structures is a significant merit, as this a key workstream in the current project stage - Confidence and ability to build strong and challenging working relations with Commercial and Technical teams - Communication skills and the experience needed to lead a cross-functional project team working on major undertakings - Relevant degree in Finance from a leading institution - Curious, technically minded with an entrepreneurial spirit - Exceptionally good problem-solving and negotiation skills - Solid language skills, including written and spoken English and German - Personal qualities that we cherish are flexibility, sense of quality, friendliness, motivation to take on new challenges, grit and a sense of humour Great Place to Work World leading technique Top specialists as team peers International environment Fast paced & entrepreneurial culture Warrant program Wellness grant
