**Duties**:

- Plans and administers an assigned segment of a sports program. Selects and emphasizes competitive sports activities to be offered.
- Assists in conducting clinics and seminars to train coaches, officials and/or participants.
- Schedules and publicizes tournaments, and other sports events. Solicits volunteer and paid services for activities.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of sports activities program objectives.
- Develops program plans and requirements. Arranges for necessary supplies, transportation, space, and services to accomplish scheduled sports activities.

- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- This position may require a health screening. Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and written in the English language.
- Must be able to work rotating shift, to include weekends and holidays.

**Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports. This experience may have been gained managing or administering a sports program in a community, industrial activity, or secondary school or college; planning, teaching or evaluating a physical education curriculum for secondary or higher academic levels; or managing, umpiring, or officiating at amateur or professional athletic events, competitions, or games. Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level.

An undergraduate degree in physical education may be fully qualifying for this position.

**Highly Preferred**:

- Possess 2 years' work experience in a Sports and Fitness Program.
- Experience with point-of-sale systems such as RecTrac or CYMS

**Pay-Band Allowances and Differential**s
- Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. **_If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay._** Sunday premium may be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). - Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Night differential may be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
