**Therapeutic Area Head Rare Disease (f/m/d)**

Focus will be on
- Supervise and develop Medical Managers and MSLs, ensuring continuous training and fostering a performance-driven environment
- Manage team objectives, provide feedback, implement KPIs, and improve efficiency through management measures and sharing best practices
- Lead the development and implementation of medical-scientific activities and projects in the corresponding indication area of RD, collaborating with internal colleagues
- Develop and execute the medical-scientific strategy, including evaluating and implementing study and project requests
- Direct and oversee medical science activities such as medical education programs, data collection, investigator-initiated research projects, and phase IV studies
- Ensure successful implementation and communication of planned medical projects and studies within defined timelines and budgets, collaborating with relevant stakeholders
- Build and maintain a network with medical/scientific opinion leaders and researchers, represent the company externally, and ensure appropriate communication of medical/scientific information

Qualification requires
- Human or veterinary medicine or biomedical university degree with doctorate
- Knowledge of internal medicine, gastroenterology, physiology, and Rare Disease (preferred in liver disease)
- Familiarity with drug interactions and relevant international and national laws
- Extensive knowledge of drug approval procedures and regulatory authorities
- Experience in designing and conducting preclinical and clinical studies, particularly in the field of RD (Gastroenterology)
- Experience as an information officer
- Experience in successfully leading and managing a medical/scientific team
- Several years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in Medical Affairs
- Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively lead and inspire a team
- Excellent coaching and mentoring abilities
- Fluent in German and English
