**About the position**:
We are looking for a Build Supervisor with Environment background to join the ship

As a Build Supervisor you will supervise and lead the technical and creative efforts of asset creation on a show. For this role, we are looking for someone who is specialised in at least one build discipline (creature/organic/digidouble or hard surface/environment build) and who enjoys leading a team. The Build Supervisor is part of the core team of a show, where you closely collaborate with the VFX Supervisor, the production team and other skill supervisors, where you are responsible for planning the work of your team to ensure a smooth and successful delivery.

As a Build Supervisor, you are both a team leader and a senior artist. You delegate work while being a mentor and caring for the well-being of your team. In this role your priority will be supervision, meaning you focus on planning, problem solving and support, ahead of doing hands-on work.

**Your work will include**:

- Leading your team with technical and creative input and supporting artists and other supervisors in problem solving throughout the show.
- In collaboration with the Production Manager, creating and maintaining an overall schedule for your team in alignment with other supervisors.
- Liaising with the VFX Supervisor on bidding and execution of work.
- Overseeing ingestion of vendor assets
- Supporting and collaborating with Light Supes/Sequence Leads on environment work
- Supporting VFX/CG/FX supes on shotsculpt, CFX, and techanim
- Overseeing a small team of artists on a project
- Doing hands on asset work
- Mentor, support and provide feedback to team members

**You need the following**:

- Extensive high-end VFX experience
- Broad range of build-discipline knowledge and specialisation in one or more of the following areas:

- Lookdev/Texturing for VFX in Houdini
- Creature and High end Digi-Double asset creation
- Complex Environment Build and Assembly
- Modelling/Sculpting (Both Organic and Hard Surface)
- Previous experience of team supervision
- Good artistic eye, both for what looks right and how to take it to the next level.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, with a good understanding of modern VFX techniques for asset creation.
- Solid understanding of onset acquisition, and ingestion and processing of raw photography and scan data for VFX
- Proactive and excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
- A humble and helpful attitude.
- Attention to detail.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- As English is our main language in production, you need to be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.

**Experience in the following areas are considered a plus**:

- Experience with USD workflows
- Python/Vex scripting experience and tools authoring ability
- Experience processing on set data and conforming it for a VFX pipeline
- Generalist Ability in a related area (environment, lighting)
- Experience with Creature FX workflows, pipeline, and asset side support.
