(Senior) Director

We are currently looking for a** **(Senior) Director - Head of FinTech Legal (all genders) **to lead our global FinTech Legal function and to support us on our journey to always delivering amazing takeaway experiences for our customers.

**Your mission**:

- You directly manage our Central FinTech Legal Team in Berlin, a team of international lawyers that is responsible for all legal matters pertaining to Delivery Hero’s substantially growing FinTech business;
- In cooperation with legal teams in our regions and markets, you oversee Delivery Hero´s global FinTech initiatives from a legal perspective and you conduct complex legal assessments pertaining to individual projects in the areas of FinTech, payments and financial services;
- In coordination with Delivery Hero´s governance, risk management and compliance teams as well as the relevant business functions, you help building a state-of-the-art compliance framework for Delivery Hero´s FinTech business;
- You ensure that all FinTech initiatives receive adequate product counseling in order to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as internal Delivery Hero standards;
- You negotiate partnerships with licensed institutions in order to ensure timely go-live of e-wallet, lending or other FinTech products (e.g. BNPL) within the Delivery Hero ecosystem and you provide support in connection with M&A projects and other corporate transactions related to FinTech;
- You use your expertise on financial regulation to prepare and manage regulatory authorization projects (e.g. EMI license projects) in different markets worldwide;
- You work closely with our product teams as well as Delivery Hero´s management team in further developing our business model and drive expansion in different jurisdictions, especially in the areas of FinTech, payments and financial services;
- You will be supporting the business sales and procurement functions of Delivery Hero with drafting and reviewing a broad range of commercial agreements pertaining to our FinTech business including merchant services agreements, software development and SAAS agreements, terms and conditions and vendor agreements;
- As part of Delivery Hero´s legal team, you coordinate external law firms worldwide, you manage administrative proceedings and investigations and you act as contact person for regulators in different markets worldwide.

**Your heroic skills**:

- You are admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction;
- You have 10+ years of experience in the in-house legal and/or compliance team of a bank, a FinTech firm (payment institution, e-money institution, AISP or similar) and/or the financial regulation practice of a reputable international law firm;
- You have significant expertise and demonstrable interest in financial regulation, specifically in payments and AML laws (e.g. EU PSD2 and AML Directives), as well as FinTech compliance;
- You have substantial experience in managing people or in overseeing the work performed by other colleagues;
- You have outstanding communication skills in English (both verbal and written) and you are able to convey complex legal concepts and arguments in simple words for an audience of non-lawyers;
- You are an absolute team player with excellent interpersonal skills and you are enthusiastic about working on multinational matters and financial technology projects;
- You possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and solve complex tasks in a legally accurate yet pragmatic and timely manner;
- You are based in Berlin or in the northern part of Germany or you are willing to relocate to the region as soon as your personal circumstances allow for it (remote working and commuting would be no problem for a transition period).
