**Job Description**:
The Engineering Team is coordinating the engineering and automation activities in the fulfillment network of currently 13 Fulfillment Centers (FCs) all over Europe. The FCs are run by Logistics Service Providers (LSPs).
As **Expert Packaging & Consumables (all genders) **you are part of the Engineering Team and take over the responsibility for all strategic activities and further development of consumable materials used in our Fulfillment centers in Europe.
This includes packaging design (specifications & branding) as well as sustainability relevant aspects. Therefore collaboration with consumables manufactures, manufacturer of warehouse automation suppliers, our LSPs as well as zooplus internal stakeholders is key to success. An additional aspect of the role is working together with our goods suppliers to make product packing e-commerce ready.
**Your tasks**:
- Analysis of virtually packed parcel data against reality
- Screening the market for new technological developments and market trends as well as competitor initiatives
- Definition of technical specifications and process related requirements for tender documents for new suppliers/products
- Supporting sourcing department with technical consumables expertise and consulting on specifying framework conditions with suppliers
- Establish standards and guidelines for supplier evaluation, evaluate and select packaging suppliers/vendors; periodically conduct vendor reviews
- Specify and recommend efficiency tools and test methods to develop and validate packaging designs
**Qualifications**:
- Finished Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering, preferable as Process Engineering for Paper and Packaging or Paper/Packaging Technology
- Minimum 3 years relevant working in industrial or consumer packaging with profound knowledge and understanding of packaging design validation standards (ISO, etc.), drafting and specification standards is essential
- Experience from leading multiple complex role related projects
- Entrepreneurial thinking and good understanding of business specifics supply chain
- Excellent English language skills
