Local Unit & Position Description:

- To enable Energy Systems to achieve its strategic ambitions and become future fit, we need leaders who drive business operations to meet customers’ expectations while also continuously improving the way we work. Renewables Certification is therefore seeking a Head of Section for the section Turbine Engineering, reporting to the Head of Department Type and Component Certification._
- Head of Section - Turbine Engineering_
- The Head of Section optimizes business operations and improves the long-term performance of the section. Colleagues in the section are e.g. working on certification of wind turbine rotor blades, mechanical structures, mechanical components, material and shop approvals._
- The work is across all stages of the project life cycle. It comprises of development of suitable services, establishing/maintaining close customer relationships, developing opportunities, contract closure and project execution. It needs to balance customer satisfaction, DNV’s strategic targets, delivering quality work, and taking care of developing the team and the individual section members._
- The service development activities and technical competence development within the section needs to be aligned with the Renewables Certification strategy. _
- The Head of Section must ensure that the section has the right number of staff with the right capabilities and strives for a high performing collaborative culture and exceptional employee experience._

**Primary tasks of this role***:

- Stimulates a high performing culture, sets direction, is output driven and act as a role model for an inspiring employee experience.
- Ensure an efficient & consistent delivery of quality services in line with customer expectations.
- Commercial focus while empowering employees and supporting individual growth.
- Stimulate cross-unit collaboration.
- Creates a flexible, resourceful workforce to deal with variable workload.
- Ensures that the team has the required technical competence and capacity and builds the competence and capacity needed in the coming years.
- Promotes team capabilities internally and externally.
- Supports the Head of Department in strategy and decision making.

Position Qualifications:
**Position Qualifications**:

- Master or Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or similar and minimum 5 years with experience relevant to the job
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the wind industry, of building customer relationships, developing business opportunities and/or executing projects
- Technical skills relevant to Renewables Certification’s business preferably also in mechanical structures or mechanical components or rotor blades
- Preferably brings a network of contacts in the renewable energy industry
- Above average communication skills in English. Additional German language skills are helpful

**Personal Qualities**:

- Building & maintaining relationships on different levels of organizations, on a personal level but if needed also through digital means like Microsoft Teams
- Demonstrate foresight - know what is happening in the market, how will it impact us and what do we do to adapt to it.
