**Main purpose of the role**:
The role of the Director Digital Europe is to enable the business strategy and priorities from a technology point of view - delivering effective, scalable solutions and innovation - whilst ensuring stable day-to-day IT operations.
The Director Digital Europe acts as the senior ‘face of Digital‘ to senior regional business stakeholders and the strategic interface between European Operations and the global Digital function. He/she owns Digital demand across the region and acts as the functional lead for the regional and market IT teams.
The role also includes functional oversight of the Europeans National Sales Companies (NSC) and the local IT teams (strategic and operational), working in close cooperation with the NSCs leadership team.
The role reports into the global Director Digital. Within the region the role has a dotted reporting line into the Finance Director Europe.
**Main Responsibilities and Job Content**:
- Partner with business and Digital/IT teams across the Regional Office, National Sales Companies, and the European Importer Region to understand strategic objectives and operational challenges - become the‘trusted advisor’ within Digital
- Develop, agree and deliver the Digital/IT roadmap for the European Region, in support of business objectives and reflective of the wider Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) IT strategy and Digital vision
- Specifically focus on enabling the digital transformation of the customer journey and new go-to-market models from a tech perspective
- Assess Digital/IT capability and effectiveness at regional and market level to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation
- Conduct rigorous portfolio planning to ensure that the Digital portfolio is prioritised, balanced and achievable
- Develop good working relationships with the global organisation - Digital & Commercial - to ensure that regional needs are served, and global initiatives are effectively planned and communicated
- Work with regional and global stakeholders to ensure appropriate Digital governance and compliance with JLR standards (architecture, data, information & cyber security, service delivery etc.) for all regional activities
- Ensure stable and cost-effective business as usual IT operations and end user support in region and markets
- Identify and address any operational challenges in cooperation with the Service Delivery function
- Manage regional Digital/IT risks in alignment with JLR standards
- Manage regional technical debt and address shadow IT
- Lead the Regional Office and NSC annual budget planning cycle for the Digital/IT space in line with JLR guidelines
- Manage 3rd party tech partners in close cooperation with Purchasing and respective business departments
- Develop productive partnerships with 3rd party organisations to bring innovation and best practice ideas into the business
- Undertake any other tasks in connection with the role and as directed by the line manager
**Key Criteria for Role**:
- University degree in Business Informatics or a comparable education/degree
- Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in a corporate Digital function or Digital programme management in a corporate structure
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in a regional or global role
- Strategic insight & deep content expertise in IT systems and services and a track record of shaping technical strategy to meet business need with measurable benefits
- Strong commercial acumen and a history of making innovative and profitable decisions with respect to IT
- Strong analytical Digital/IT background, IT portfolio management and delivery skills
- Proven experience in IT project management frameworks and business analysis
- Experience in IT budget planning and control (OpEx / CapEx)
- Experience in leading direct / indirect, dispersed teams
- International experience ideally working for blue-chip organisations
- Automotive background, preferably in a Marketing, Sales & Service context
- Experience in delivering transformational programmes and change management
- Preferably experience with the Agile framework and Agile ways of working
- Preferably experience with Salesforce and/or SAP technology platforms
- Preferably experience with Cyber Security frameworks and best practices

- Excellent communication and presentation skills; used to translate business into Digital requirements, able to effectively communicate complex ideas across levels
