Reporting to: Team Lead Technology Development

**About Ascend**:
Ascend is a new model for gene & cell therapy design, development, and manufacturing. We partner with ambitious biotechnology teams to embed scalable manufacturing in their operations from the beginning. We support manufacturing and process development projects from design through to clinical and commercial scale.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in molecular biology-related method development where knowledge of molecular cloning techniques and qPCR/ddPCR is of advantage
- Present latest research findings in weekly updates and engage in rigorous scientific discussion
- Establish and maintain a good working relationship across all operations staff and teams
- Train incoming staff and research associates

**Requirements**:

- Any “Technical Assistant” according to the German educational system (BTA, CTA, MTA, UTA, MLTA,) with a biological/biotechnological/chemical background
- Any “Laborant” according to the German educational system (Biologie-Laborant, Chemie-Laborant,)
- Bachelor of Science with a biological, biotechnological or (bio-)chemical background
- Good oral and written communication skills in English and German
- Self-directed and self-motivated. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and also as a team member in a matrix environment
