Medical Science Liaison

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Establish and maintain credible peer-to-peer scientific relationships with national/regional key opinion leaders (KOLs) and customers.
- Interact and align on the strategic imperatives with the sales and marketing leader CE and the rollout of the clinically aligned activites.
- Implement strategic, scientific, and educational initiatives to achieve Integrated Medical Plan objectives. Serve as the primary resource for clinical and scientific information to external HCPs for key scientific / clinical areas under their responsibility.
- Develop education and training programs to improve patient outcomes and increase understanding of the medical procedures and associated patient therapy.
- Interact with various customer segments via one-on-one interactions, small group discussions, and educational symposium presentations.
- Attend assigned scientific and medical congresses to capture information relevant to the organization’s scientific platforms and report this information to internal stakeholders during debrief meetings.
- Assist in facilitating KOL involvement in national, regional, and local educational forums including advisory boards, investigator meetings, educational symposia, and sponsored promotional programs.
- Act as Medical Reviewer / Approver for Promotional materials within the territory / Region, should these responsibilities be delegated from the respective BU Medical Affairs management.
- Assist in the identification of investigators and sites for company-sponsored clinical trials.
- Lead the development of publications based on the Regional Company Sponsored Studies and data analyses.
- Maintain a thorough and detailed working knowledge of the organization and its products, current scientific research, and publications.
- Support the commercial activities of the region
- Coordination of the members of the CE clinical team, to ensure consistence of clinical approach, development of the clinical knowledge and capabilities and support as required.
- Development and implementation of the CE clinical strategy to align with the business objectives
- Expert support to the commercial activities such as promotional talks, corporate symposia, commercial advisory boards, & clinical consulting services including but not limited to the delivery of practice reviews etc.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- MD, PharmD, or PhD (with clinical experience) preferred. - 3-5 years of field based MSL experience preferred, or 3-5 years of work experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry also acceptable.
- Clinical experience in scientific / clinical area under their responsibility required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in English & German communication
- Travel: 50% including overnight stays
- Demonstrates ability to present approved scientific data to HCPs in both group and individual settings.
- Ability to critically analyze and interpret complicated clinical and pre-clinical data.
- Utilization of effective communication to adjust for multiple communication styles.
- Ability to identify unmet medical, educational, and research needs within the medical community.
- Knowledge of Human Clinical Research design and process.
- Understanding of the healthcare system, medical practice, and clinical decision making in regards to healthcare provision scientific / clinical area under their responsibility.
- Demonstrates integrity and ability to develop trust with peers and others within the US and Worldwide BD Medical Affairs and other BU functions.
