Business Controller

**Over de functie**:** Business Area Wind **is responsible for Vattenfall’s Onshore and Offshore Wind as well as other non-hydro Renewable activities like PV/Solar. Today we develop, construct and operate wind generation in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. In addition, we have a clear strategy to develop our Solar operations further.

We are looking for a **Business Controller** for our Solar and Batteries business covering our reporting, planning and forecast processes. You will be responsible for supporting the business with financial insights and analysis in a range of areas: from reporting actuals and forecasting long-term spend, to analysing cost and performance drivers. You will be part of the controlling team for the BU Solar and Batteries within BA Wind.

As our Business Controller, you will bring a wealth of experience and expertise in financial analysis and business control. You will play a pivotal role in driving our company's financial performance and strategic initiatives forward.

**Main tasks & responsibilities**:

- Prepare monthly actual reporting and year-end forecasts for our Delivery and Portfolio & Transactions areas, contributing valuable insights to our BU Scorecard and OKR processes.
- Develop and implement financial business plans for Delivery and Portfolio & Transactions, aligning them with our broader BU and BA objectives.
- Serve as the primary interface between management and our controlling team, ensuring seamless communication and alignment on all controlling-related matters.
- Collaborate closely with our Accounting department to address any queries or issues related to Delivery and Portfolio & Transactions.
- Take ownership of Solar & Batteries Controlling financial Power BI development, driving continuous improvement in our reporting capabilities.
- Actively participate in ad hoc BU and Controlling projects, contributing to strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing our operational efficiency and effectiveness.

**Education/Qualification**:

- You hold a university degree in a relevant field such as controlling, economics, accounting, or finance.
- You are proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to leverage these tools to analyze complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
- You have experience working with SAP (or similar package) and Power BI, enabling you to navigate and extract insights from our financial systems efficiently.

**Experience**:

- You possess a minimum of 3 years' experience in business control, demonstrating a solid understanding of financial analysis and reporting principles.
- Exhibit strong business acumen and analytical skills, with prior experience in the energy market considered advantageous.
- Have international exposure, having worked in corporate environments, and demonstrate the ability to manage and align diverse stakeholder interests effectively.

- You have exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, particularly in English.

You are an enterprising, structured person who can create relations and are able to work in an international environment with colleagues and a manager in different locations. This also requires being visible and having strong communication skills. You have the ability to transfer conceptual ideas into practical solutions and you are proactive in business controlling and have a strong focus in business partnership. You have an understanding of key financial processes and like to work with figures and make thorough analyses without losing the big picture.

**Location**

The location of this position is flexible (Berlin, Hamburg, Amsterdam). Regular business trips to other locations in northern Europe will be required.
