Senior Accountant

We are looking for a talented accountant to join our fast-growing team based in Amsterdam

As a key member of the Fixed Asset Accounting team, you will report to the Global Fixed Asset Accounting Manager. You will be responsible for tracking, maintaining, and overseeing the daily movement of cash across the company’s bank accounts.

You will work with a large range of stakeholders across the Company (Treasury, AP, AR, and technical accounting, to name a few), and therefore building strong relationships will be critical to your success.

Your main responsibilities are:

- Manage the global Fixed Assets accounting activities, which includes accounting and related financial controls for lease-related assets & liabilities, property plant & equipment, intangible assets (including capitalized research & development costs), goodwill, and related depreciation & amortization;
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly close processes and deliverables for the related areas, including review of work performed by others;
- Contribute in Identifying and implementing improvements and efficiencies which can streamline the close process and/or reduce risks, such as implementation of automated solutions (e.g. RPA), and improved systems & tools;
- Operationalize the accounting for business transactions, including lease arrangements and assets acquired in business combinations;
- Partner with business stakeholders, including engineering, tax, corporate development, facilities, and sales to influence and advise on contemplated transactions;
- Contribute in enterprise-level initiatives relating to the related business processes, including tax & legal entity optimization, enhancements to the company’s internal controls over financial reporting, and implementation of IFRS reporting;
- Responsible for group and statutory audit requests for the owned areas.
- Research, analyze, and effectively communicate accounting issues and escalate across the organization.

About you:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-3+ years’ work experience in accounting, preferably in a similar position.
- Use to work with ERP Systems (NetSuite is a strong plus)
- Proven ability to collaborate across geographies and work in a fast-paced, cross-functional and cross-cultural environment
- Proactive self-starter who operates with a strong sense of ownership with the ability to work independently with mínimal direct supervision
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills with a high degree of attention to detail are essential, as is an ability to explain complex issues in an understandable way.
