The following position is available in Faculty V - Law at the University of Trier as of October 1, 2025:
W1 Professorship for Civil Law, Labor Law and

Law of the Digital Labor Society

with tenure track according to W3 (M/F/d)

This junior professorship is aimed at young scientists in the early stages of their careers, possessing

extraordinary potential for further advancement in science.

The future holder of the position represent civil law and labour law in its entirety in research and

contribute to legal education at the department, particularly in the university's focus area (focus area 3:
labour and social law), and to cooperate with the department's institutes in this area (IAAEU, IRDT). A

willingness to acquire third-party funding is a prerequisite. The ability to hold lectures in English or

French, in addition to the basic courses in German, is an advantage. A willingness to participate in

existing or future Bachelor's, Magister, or Master's degree programs in the department is desirable.

The official duties arise from - 48 of the Higher Education Act of Rhineland
- Palatinate (HochSchG).

The requirements for employment stem from - 54 HochSchG.

According to Sections 54 and 55 of the HochSchG, junior professorships are generally filled for a period

of six years. An evaluation of an orientational nature regarding the level of performance in teaching,

research, or art takes place at the earliest after the third year of employment and at the latest before the

end of the fourth year of employment. Following the period of the junior professorship, a permanent

transfer of the aforementioned professorship (Bes.Gr. W3 LBesG) is planned if the holder of the position

has proven himself or herself in accordance with the relevant university law regulations (evaluation

procedures) and meets the general service law and personal requirements. Reference is made to Section

50, Paragraph 5, Sentence 6 of the HochSchG in this context.

The State of Rhineland-Palatinate and the University of Trier are committed to intensive personal
