**Job Title: Finance Auditor / Corporate Finance Controller**

**Location: Munich, Germany (Hybrid working)**

**Reporting to: Finance Director**

**The Role**:
As a Finance Auditor / Controller at Ascend, you will play a crucial role in managing audit duties within our German entity. Working closely with key stakeholders, you will be using your meticulous skills and knowledge of German Tax audits to handle both external and internal audit duties. **Requirements**:

- Review and take ownership of month end cycle and close process of Germany entity
- Lead independently the local financial audit and tax audit and preparation the statutory audit under FRS102 (IFRS)
- Documentation of processes in flowcharts and recognize internal controls and weaknesses and make recommendations
- Review and sign off balance sheet and income statement accounts of our Germany entity in HGB and FR102
- Review and sign off general ledger journal entries and reconciliations for month-end in a timely manner
- Lead the payroll process and VAT filing with tax advisor
- Work with finance team abroad and reconcile German GAAP’s to FRS102 (IFRS)
- Inventory accounting
- Lead the subledger function together with Finance team
- Assist Group Finance Director with multi-currencies consolidation
- Knowledge of lease accounting and revenue recognition is highly desirable
- Experience with ERP migration is desirable
- Experience in audit is desirable
- Business fluent in German, not necessary native. Business fluent in English.

Professional Qualifications:

- Master in Accounting or CPA of equivalent in Germany.
- Prefer some 3 or more audit experience. SOX audit highly desirable.
- Over 10 years experience in accounting or auditing
- Independent personality and used to fast pace environment
- Experience in biotechnology, start-up is desirable
- Experience with Netsuite is desirable
