**Purpose of the Position**:
Parasiticides Discovery provides the infrastructure and expertise to identify new solutions against endo-and ectoparasites in the early Research phase. The Research Scientist Parasiticides leads a small team of lab technicians who generate _in vitro_- and _in vivo_-data on antiparasitic compounds and alternative approaches. An important part of the work is the assessment and interpretation of results in close collaboration with other research areas. The function includes the initiation and lead of Research-projects and the technical input in international multi-functional teams. The Research Scientist Parasiticides also collaborates with academic and governmental institutions and with contract research organizations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lab head function with responsibility for 2 to 4 lab technicians
- Development and execution of _in vitro_- and _in vivo_-methods for evaluation of antiparasitic activity of new compounds and alternative approaches
- Establish and maintain a network with academic and governmental institutions and with contract research organizations
- Lead of or collaboration in cross functional teams in the frame of Parasitology Research
- and Development-projects
- Leader function for laboratory animals, including the establishment of new models, writing and submission of requests and communication with authorities.

**Required Experience and Education**:

- MSc, Veterinarian or equivalent; PhD preferred
- Subject matter expertise in parasitology, molecular biology and immunology
- Work experience in industry desirable
- Strong people and technical leadership skills, as well as strategic thinking. Ability to work in global teams
- Clear written and oral communication skills (English a must, German highly recommended)
