**Intern in the field of automation (M/F/d)**

INVITE GmbH is a public-private partnership between Bayer AG, and the Technical University of Dortmund and the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. INVITE sees itself as an open research and development platform which develops, demonstrates, and validates innovative production concepts for the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. For current research projects, we are looking for reinforcement in the field of automation.

**Your tasks and educational objectives**
- Contribution in research, design, and project implementation in digitalization, new industrial technologies, lab orchestration, and data structuring and standardized information models.
- Investigating new designs, operations and performance improvements based on in-house or client’s requirements and feedback.
- Understand and program using several different programming styles, including ladder logic, statement list, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text, and high-level languages such as C#, Python, and an overall understanding of Databases.
- Preparation of documentation for wiring scheme, loop drawings, control cabinet design and connections, and other relevant documents.
- Participation in the management and organization of R&D projects

**Who you are**
- Pursuing Masters/Bachelors in Automation/Control/Electrical and Electronics/Mechatronics/Robotics Engineering
- German and English fluently spoken and written
- Willingness to learn new things, intensive teamwork, creativity, and interest in innovations
- Working knowledge of MS office Suite
- Independent and proactive, team
- and solution-oriented working style
- Knowledge in Industrial Control Systems and Instrumentation, Standard Communication protocols, Industry 4.0, etc. is beneficial
- Knowledge of network technologies and Ethernet and other industrial communication networks is beneficial.
- Hands-on experience of programming in MATLAB, C++, Python, etc. is beneficial
