However, another MEININGER destination is acceptable/ Remote work permitted but travel to Berlin or to hotel site is required where necessary** **MEININGER Hotels is looking for a Head of Openings and Refurbishments who is responsible for consistent, superior project management to ensure hotel-opening readiness (technical, operational, commercial) within approved budget and timeline. They must balance operational and commercial drivers.** **MEININGER Hotels. Where the comforts of a hotel meet the special facilities of a hostel.** We run more than 35 hotels in Europe's best cities—and counting **YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES** - Understand and play back the commercial drivers and objectives for each project - Develop detailed pre-opening and refurbishment project plans - Identify deliverables, milestones on the project and manage interdependencies across projects - Define project goals, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders - Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to ensure project success - Manage project teams, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure effective collaboration and high-quality deliverables - Monitor project activities, identify potential issues or roadblocks, and proactively address them to keep projects on track - Manage stakeholder expectations by providing timely and accurate information, managing conflicts, and addressing concerns - Identify and monitor resource utilization and adjust allocations as needed to optimize project performance and meet project deadlines - Conduct regular project evaluations to assess progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary - Ensure suitable documentation is maintained for audit and future reference - At the end of the project, ensure a smooth transition to the “business as usual” functions **YO**UR PROFILE**: - Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices - Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams - Experience of matrix management and working with resources not under your direct control - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels - Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on driving results and delivering high-quality outcomes - Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment - High commercial awareness, understanding the competing demands of different business functions - Knowledge of finance, forecasting and budgeting - Experience of new hotel openings and hotel refurbishments (preferred) - Knowledge of hotel IT systems and infrastructure (preferred) - Fluent in English.
