ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Accountant, you’ll work on interesting responsibilities, collaborating closely with the Finance team.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Monitor accounting transactions, maintaining, and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts
- Involvement in intercompany processes (invoicing, reconciling, administering IC loans and interest calculations)
- Participation in the month-end closing activities in close collaboration with Group Accounting and FP&A, as well as with other sennder subsidiaries
- Assist with statutory audits, investigating, and resolving audit findings and requests
- Analyze and rectify account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
- Prepare monthly VAT declarations and other relevant tax returns
- Contribute to streamlining and automation of our accounting processes
- Prepare process descriptions and process maps for our team routines and for the sender group
- Liaise with external stakeholders, such as tax authorities, banks, the Bundesbank, auditors
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses on request

PREFERABLY YOU HAVE
- Extensive professional experience as an Accountant / Senior Accountant supported by a relevant education / qualification
- Strong understanding of accounting and reporting processes, including HGB & IFRS knowledge
- Experience in tax reporting and understanding of VAT, CIT, trade tax and other taxes
- Fluent English and B2 German skills
- Strong communication skills
- Problem solving, troubleshooting and change management skills
- Attention to detail while understanding the bigger picture and goal at the same time
- Analytical skills and out-of-the-box thinking
- Willingness to take ownership and responsibility of projects and tasks
- Very good command of Excel and experience with an ERP system, preferably NetSuite, FloQast knowledge is an advantage
- Understanding the importance of internal and external deadlines
