YOUR MISSION
- Management of the Operational Department (in a Co-Leadership set up) for Protein Science with currently 70 employees as core technology platform of Proteros, starting from construct design, sequence optimization and protein expression till purification and analytics for demanding Integrated Early Stage Drug Discovery projects on challenging targets
- Leadership of multidisciplinary groups and development of organization and employees between science focused excellence and commercial efficiency while getting the opportunity to further develop and build a team of dedicated scientists and research associates
- Delivery of all services around proteins in quality, time and budget as specified using appropriate tools of capacity planning, monitoring of daily work and KPI
- Enable and manage collaboration with internal (entire Sales Organization, all other departments) and external (customer, supplier) stakeholders
- Continuous improvement of technological set-up, resource utilization and process efficiency within department
- Budgeting of costs and capex for Department and execution within approved budget frame

YOUR PROFILE
- Prior minimum of 5 years experience in managing operational departments / groups in Pharma, Biotech, or CRO.
- Proven record of leadership experience for multiple scientific (sub-)teams and in development of organizations in a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment
- Ability to guide teams and colleagues in a decisive, but supportive and encouraging manner with proven track-record of training, coaching, and developing teams with a strong “enablement mindset”
- Ph.D. degree and hands-on experience in one or multiple scientific disciplines such as Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or related fields
- Ability to work trustfully with our Co
- lead in the department and ability to share the responsibility for the whole department
- Service mindset, hands-on mentality, cost sensitivity
- Fluent in English and German
