**Your Opportunity**

**Are you a skilled data scientist eager to translate groundbreaking science into the next generation of medical diagnostics and improved patient care?**

We are seeking an exceptional Data Scientist to join our team in Munich. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing cutting-edge computational workflows for mass spectrometry-based profiling of clinical samples such as human blood. Mass spectrometry-related domain knowledge is not required though. Your work will be pivotal in unlocking the full potential of large-scale datasets of hundreds to thousands of Gigabytes generated by our unique technology platform.

As a member of our R&D team, you will collaborate within a scrum team setup, working closely with colleagues and scientists both inside and outside the lab Your projects will span a wide spectrum, from advanced data analysis and cloud computing to data visualization, software development, and biomarker discovery. The driving force of our team is to extract maximum value from the large-scale datasets produced by ions.bio’s technology platform, directly benefiting patients.

**Your Profile**
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science / Bioinformatics / Physics / Mathematics or related fields
- 2+ years of working experience in data science
- You enjoy exploring data and perform statistical analyses and complex modeling
- Strong programming skills (preferably Python) and experience with data analysis pipelines
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities with experience in exploring and analyzing large-scale datasets
- Willingness to work on several projects simultaneously
- Affinity for working in small, agile, and interdisciplinary teams
- Solid presentation and reporting skills, with the ability to effectively communicate your findings to both scientist and management teams
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting to shifting work tasks while consistently meeting deadlines
- Specifically valuable assets would be experience with TB-scale datasets, cloud computing (AWS/GCP), runtime and memory optimization of algorithms, and parallelization of code
