Principal Product Security Expert

**THE ROLE & THE TEAM**:
As a Principal Product Security Expert at Zalando, working directly in a business unit as an Embedded Expert, you will be a crucial link between Information Security, Business Units teams and the senior management. Within the Product Security Customer Team you will play a high impact role addressing security challenges with the highest degree of scope and complexity, having a company-wide impact and with the opportunity to drive the entire team in the right direction based on your expertise and experience.

The Principal Product Security Expert will identify and challenge company-wide security and compliance risks, as well as issues throughout the product design, solutions design and development processes. If you have a proven solid background in IT security within modern cloud based architecture and e-commerce environments, as well as very strong communication and relationship skills, then you might be the expert we are looking for

- Collaborating with the business units in identifying security risks and designing complex technical solutions to mitigate them
- Collaborating and guiding engineering teams on technical designs, security trends and threat intelligence
- Enabling delivery teams to take responsibility for security, risk, and privacy aspects of their products or services
- Driving the prioritization of security related initiatives, including company wide topics
- Advising and guiding business units senior management and company executives on addressing security risks versus business impacts
- Collaborating with the Legal and Compliance teams, as well as delivery teams, to improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
- Driving adoption of standardized security architecture patterns. Being the advocate of the business unit in the conversations with the central functions
- Innovator by heart and keep fresh by looking for new ways to do things. You are able to put new tools and concepts into practice in a diverse, living and ever-growing organization and regularly reflect on your own work and share feedback in a constructive way

**WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF HAVE**:

- Knowledge and experience to see security in a strategic and tactical perspectives and know how to drive security topics
- Ability to explain the complex nature of security risks and balance between the business needs
- Proven background in IT security, within modern Agile cloud based architecture (e.g. AWS, GCP), threat intelligence and e-commerce environment (e.g. Checkout, Edge Protection, Bot Protection)
- Risk Management and threat modeling skills, building the full picture from an attacker perspective and connecting with business critical processes
- Ability to build trustful relationships and create an understanding between all levels of a business unit and the central security and compliance teams
- Security certifications like CISSP, CCSP, CISM, AWS Security are a nice to have
- Practical solutions which work for your stakeholders
