Gen Re currently offers an excellent opportunity for a **Marine Treaty Underwriter (d/f/m)** in our **Cologne** office (other European locations are also possible) within our P&C International Unit.

Your Role

This role is within the International Property and Casualty Reinsurance division which is responsible for structuring, underwriting, pricing and portfolio management of our Marine Treaty business:

- Underwriting of proportional and non-proportional Marine treaty business in multiple countries using general and Marine specific treaty pricing tools, as well as the maintenance and enhancement of those tools.
- Keeping track of market developments to help maintaining modern up to date Marine Treaty Underwriting Guidelines and Reinsurance Contracts.
- Support of our Account Executives to develop reinsurance strategies in Marine Treaty business with existing & new clients and be accountable for the performance.
- Contact person for the Marine departments of our Marine treaty clients and the marine markets with their respective national organizations.
- Processing of contractual documentation and executing of administrative tasks such as reporting and system data entries and maintenance.

Your Profile
- Successfully completed studies in economics or equivalent.
- Experience in Marine / Marine treaty reinsurance and good knowledge of the Marine direct insurance industry with willingness to further broaden Marine knowledge, i.e. attending “DVA Spezialistenlehrgang Transportversicherung” or similar.
- Strong technological and math / analytical skills with an appreciation to combine math / analytical skills with requirements from underlying original Marine business.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (includes presentations), as well as Business fluent in English and German and the readiness to travel.
