Join our dynamic Occupational Therapy (OT) Team to empower Medway residents to maintain their independence through early interventions. This role involves providing holistic, person-centred, strength-based assessments and interventions. You will support OT staff and manage complex cases, including manual handling, major and minor adaptations, reablement, housing, and care package reviews.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Support and Empower**: Assist the OT Team in delivering early interventions that promote independence.
- **Complex Case Management**: Handle complex cases with strength-based occupational therapy assessments.
- **Stakeholder Liaison**: Collaborate with stakeholders to promote the Council's vision and values.
- **Service Development**: Identify service gaps and redeploy resources to meet business needs.
- **Leadership**: Lead service and staff development, implementing action plans for optimal performance.
- **Supervision**: Provide professional and clinical oversight, ensuring quality supervision and performance.
- **Student Support**: Promote and support OT student and apprentice placements.
- **Safeguarding**: Uphold the Council's safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of individuals.
- **Duty Service Management**: Support and manage OT Duty service and lone working procedures.

**Person Specification**:

- ** Qualifications**:

- Recognised professional Occupational Therapy qualification.
- HCPC registration.
- Satisfactory DBS check.
- **Knowledge and Skills**:

- Understanding of safeguarding, relevant legislation, and theoretical frameworks.
- Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and housing legislation.
- Familiarity with GDPR and the Equality Act 2020.
- Up-to-date knowledge of social care sector changes.

Career Progression Frameworks (CPF) have been introduced for all roles at Medway Council. These frameworks provide a mechanism for employees to take ownership of their development within their post and be rewarded accordingly. This means that the salary you will be offered will be at level A unless, based on an assessment against the CPF criteria, you demonstrate that you are meeting the criteria of level B or C.
