About your team: The Oversight and Regulatory Office team covers the following themes: Compliance, Legal, Data Protection, BCM 2 LoD, Information Security, Outsourcing and Regulatory Reporting. The team ensures that FIL Fondsbank GmbH (FFB) is acting within the boundaries set by regulation. A strong collaboration between the teams is key for success. About your role: The Legal Counsel and Data Protection Officer will manage all kind of legal queries and ensures that FFB is acting within the regulation of GDPR / BDSG. The Legal Council and Data Protection Officer will play a key role and provide active contribution to all business initiatives. Furthermore, the continuous improvement of standard form agreements, terms of business and legal processes are part of the responsibilities. About you: - Qualified by 1st and 2nd State Examination in Law (Volljurist) or comparable law degree from University or University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule) or equivalent international qualification - Significant experience (>7y) in banking or financial services industry with a deep understanding of applicable law and regulatory framework gained in an inhouse role in Legal or Compliance or in a law firm or with financial regulatory authorities - Energy and enthusiasm to add value when advising on legal and regulatory matters in a pragmatic and commercial manner placing the client at the centre of recommendation - Enjoys working collaboratively and cross-functionally on teams, as well as independently; - Positive, pro-active attitude suited to being a team member within a dynamic business environment - German and English language skills are essential - Experience in an international environment would be a plus.
