Assembly Technician

Overview

Test and calibrate circuit boards and other assemblies; trouble-shoot and repair non-functional or defective assemblies; perform tests and procedures on items returned to LI-COR for repair or service; other job related duties as assigned.

Professional Qualifications

Education and Experience
- Associates Degree in Electronic Systems Technology or equivalent is required.
- Some evidence that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the Job Functions listed below.
- Must show through academic records and testing a general knowledge and understanding of analog and digital electronics fundamentals.
- Manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required.

General
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Excellent physical dexterity and motor skills to use tools, fixtures, and measuring equipment.
- Ability to work independently, as well as under direction of others.
- Must have a proven aptitude for learning.
- Must be able to perform tasks quickly with precision.
- Must be able to follow written and oral instruction and communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision and the ability to distinguish colors.
- Ability to comprehend and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Good computer skills.
- Must be dependable and have good attendance.

Position Responsibilities

Specific
- Follow provided written test procedures and oral instruction for testing and calibrating assemblies.
- Set up and operate bench test equipment such as digital voltmeter, frequency counter, oscilloscope, power-supplies and personal computers.
- Read and interpret schematic diagrams and operation descriptions in order to isolate defective components or manufacturing defects in assemblies.
- Repair or replace defective components as needed to restore functionality to assemblies.
- Record and report defects as they are found during the test process.

General
- Maintain all appropriate written and electronic records related to Specific Job Functions.
- Good attention to detail and responsible to see that tasks are carried through to completion.
- Interact with others in a friendly, cooperative, and respectful manner.
- Be accepting of _Rush_ orders and tasks
