**(Senior) Expert Modeling/Optimization (M/F/d)**

**Your Tasks**:

- You manage and participate in group-wide projects in cooperation with customers, the production department, and the supply chain management department.
- You develop and use advanced mathematical methods and expert systems mainly in the area of logistics and production planning and scheduling.
- You provide support for the development and implementation of our innovation strategy.
- Another part of your job will be to manage and participate in projects supporting investment decisions, innovation processes, market positioning, and future planning at all sites by estimating their technical and economic potential using mathematical models.
- You develop and implement new numerical methods and strategies for group-wide use in process development and process optimization.
- It’s your task to prepare flow sheet scenarios to model the impact (e.g. capacities, bottlenecks, costs, process times) of new processes and new strategic projects on existing flows of material.
- You act as an expert partner and contact person when it comes to introducing novel mathematical methods for production management and process optimization.

**Your Profile**:

- You have a university (master’s) degree or technical college degree in engineering, mathematics, information technology or the equivalent, a doctoral degree is advantageous.
- Professional experience in an industrial company is a plus.
- You are experienced in the areas of modeling, mathematical optimization, statistics or data analysis.
- You have knowledge of process engineering, preferable related to metallurgy, as well as experience in modeling supply chains and inventory management systems or production scheduling systems.
- You are skilled with at least one modeling languages such as GAMS, AIMMS, Pyomo or AMPL as well as programming language such as R, Python, C++ or Java.
- You have fluent English proficiency; German language skills are preferable.
- You have a confident manner and assertiveness as well as analytical and conceptual thinking capabilities.
- You have excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical project and stakeholders from different levels.
- An excellent ability to grasp and explain complex concepts as well as team spirit and creativity complete your profile.
