Are you passionate about sustainability and interested in exploring the potential benefits of digitalization for sustainable production systems? Do you want to understand how the digital transformation can enhance sustainability performance and contribute to a more sustainable future and a circular economy?

This thesis will develop a comprehensive framework for assessing digital maturity levels in organizations and evaluate their ability to implement effective digital sustainability management practices. As organizations increasingly recognize the importance of integrating sustainability into their operations, digital technologies offer promising opportunities for achieving sustainability goals.

**What you will do**
- Structured research and analysis of scientific literature on relevant topics
- Preparation of your own research hypothesis, objectives and structure of the thesis with support and guidance from your supervisor at Fraunhofer IPA
- Scientific elaboration, analysis and presentation of research results in a final thesis
- Possibility to publish the results in form of a study, a white paper or as peer-reviewed

**What you bring to the table**
- Student (M/F/d) of computer sciences; environmental sciences; engineering, or related field
- Interest in the areas of digitalization and sustainable production
- High motivation, commitment, and willingness to learn new topics
- Analytical, independent and structured way of working
- Good MS Office skills. Optional: previous EndNote/Citavi knowledge
- No programming skills are required
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Thesis language: English
