The Vodafone Tech Innovation Center Dresden is Vodafone’s new global center for innovation and co-creation with other top tech world-wide companies, universities and research institutes. **What will you be doing**:

- You will be participating and contributing in the research for Vodafone in a publicly funded project, Project ANNA, which has the overarching goal to develop a 6G holistic approach for mobile radio systems.
- You will be responsible for contributing to Project ANNA in identified key work packages related to 6G architecture and Open-RAN when applied to private and industrial networks.
- You will collaborate closely with project partners that includes Universities, leading technology vendors, and teams across the Vodafone Group who are working to deliver new enterprise services.
- Your role will focus on developing network solutions based on customer demands in close exchange with relevant stakeholders from Vodafone Group Technology, Vodafone Business, Vodafone Germany and external stakeholders.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

- MSc or PhD level degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science or Engineering, with professional experience in the telecommunications sector.
- A strong academic background in telecoms research, ideally obtained through working collaboratively with international teams.
- Solid knowledge in network architecture including Radio Access Networks. Ideally, an industrial backdown that includes Open-RAN and 3GPP standards.
- Good knowledge, and experience, of project management.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of the mobile industry.
- Resourceful, ability to network, and pro-active.
- Language requirements: Fluency (written and verbal) in both German and English is essential.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

- Participate and contribute research reporting to work package lead, project coordinator, and communicating results to external stakeholders.
- Leadership of their own tasks within the collaborative project and forming technical contributions to a high standard.
- Clear focus on 6G architecture and longer-term development of Open-RAN when applied to private networks.
- Contribution and guidance to other related collaborative projects being undertaken within the Dresden Innovation Centre.
- Providing contributions to Vodafone networks teams, and to external organisations in which standards and working practices related to Open-RAN and industrial networks are defined.
- Support the technical lead in the presentation of results internally and externally to stakeholders
- Ability to take ownership of contributions, and to proactively demonstrate impact with other teams across the Vodafone Group.

Key performance indicators:
- Task lead according to funded project expectations under guidance from Technical Manager.
- Research impact of project contributions with partners, and externally.
- Ability to demonstrate technical leadership in the specific domain(s) of project contribution.
