Postdoc (f/m/d) - Self Learning Systems Lab

The position will be part of the Self Learning Systems Lab (Assistant
Prof. Benjamin Gagl) at the Department of Rehabilitation and Spe
- cial Education at the University of Cologne, Germany. The lab inves
- tigates neurocognitive processes in reading and learning to read to
develop computational methods that aid diagnostic decisions and
increase training outcomes in educational settings.

YOUR TASKS
- Preparation, conduction, analysis, and documentation of ex
- periments in reading and language science
- Development of computational models, publication of results,
and writing research grants
- Presentation of results at conferences
- Teaching obligation of four hours per week per semester
- Own research
- Administration

YOUR PROFILE
- ing a PhD in cognitive neuroscience, data science, psychology,
empirical educational sciences, psycholinguistics, or a related
field

science, learning to read, dyslexia, or foreign language acqui

- tative data analysis with R or Python and knowledge of using
Unix-based computer systems
- Ideally, programming skills, experience with machine learning,
or experience with computational modeling
- The position demands eagerness, inter-disciplinary curiosity,
and technical aptitude to conduct advanced electrophysiolog
- ical and neuroimaging research and analyses
- Good written and spoken English skills

The position is available as soon as possible on a full-time basis
(39,83 hours per week). It is limited to 2 years with the possibilty
of extension for 1 year. If the applicant meets the relevant wage re
- quirements and personal qualifications, the salary is based on re
- muneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public
sector.
