As **Payroll Lead** you will be part of the People Services Team and have responsibility to lead a small team of Payroll Specialists that manage monthly payroll activities and a variety of projects that focus on automation and process improvement. You will be involved in transitioning to a new payroll vendor and enabling a streamlined payroll process across cross functional teams.

As with all roles in FREE NOW there is a hands-on component and in this role a key responsibility will be to own Payroll for all locations. This will require detailed hands-on knowledge and experience of running and setting up payroll, as well as delivering improvements to tools and processes to support payroll & tax compliance. Here you will partner closely with Finance & Payroll providers across our 11 different countries and other functional teams in the People function to contribute to a seamless employee experience.

**YOUR DAILY ADVENTURES WILL INCLUDE**:

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the payroll team and make sure that end to end payroll activities run smoothly
- Be in charge of compliance in all payroll processes including legal requirements and regulatory changes, internal processes and regulations
- Cooperate with the global provider and our People (HR) Business Partner to solve possible tax and social security related matters
- Lead process optimization and continuous improvements in the payroll team
- Partner with internal cross-functional teams and external supply partners to develop process and system improvements
- Build and maintain our knowledge base content for payroll procedures and internal controls
- Lead projects and initiatives across the people department (New Payroll Vendor roll-out, Process automation etc.)

**TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE**:

- Several years of experience in Payroll processing for multiple European countries (preferably Spain and/or Germany and/or France)
- Proven experiences managing a team with a high performance mindset
- Solid project management skills in process improvement and implementation projects
- Strong intercultural communication skills and ability to build good relationships with various stakeholders
- Fluency in English spoken and written, with an additional European language being a plus
- Knowledge of HCM Systems, preferably Workday
