We support regional newspapers to meet the challenges of the digital age: facilitate reach, engagement, and monetization of journalistic content and integrate it with analytics and AI services (i.e.: tagging, voice synthesis, content generation).
Our solution - jOS (journalistic operating system) supports newspapers for over 3 years and we boldly look for many to come.

Aufgaben
Take responsibility for our enginering efforts and the growth the jOS SaaS platform in dynamic, startup a’like, environment.
**As a Head of Engineering, you will have chance to**:

- Create and oversee evolution of jOS
- Work closely with top management
- Manage team of developers
- Setup and control internal development processes
- Take ownership of internal systems
- Participate in business strategy evolution

Qualifikation
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on architecture or team leading, ideally on top of a degree in computer science or a related field (e.g., mathematics, physics)
- In depth understanding of cloud based, distributed systems
- Excellent verbal skill, proven ability to express your vision to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines,
- Good knowledge of English; working understanding of German is a plus
- Experience with React, Next.js, AWS technology stacks is a plus
