The work includes DNA extraction, qPCR quantification of Prymnesium parvum in river water samples taken as part of a multidisciplinary collaborative project ODER~SO funded by the Federal Ministry of Environment. The project aims at documenting impacts on aquatic organisms and their regeneration as well as precautionary research on potential future blooms of the golden alga Prymnesium parvum in the Odra basin. **Your tasks**: - To support the sampling of water samples from the Odra river basin - Carry out DNA extraction of the respective water samples - Perform QPCR analysis of water samples - Support a monitoring to assess the distribution and abundance of Prymnesium parvum in the Odra basin and other sampling sites - Close collaboration with other working groups in the project **Your profile**: - Work experience as a lab technician with a focus on molecular techniques - Experience in QPCR is required - Practical experience with fish rearing, field work and in experimentation is advantageous - Driving license is required - The will and ability to travel for the field work are essential - Communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team - Excellent German or excellent English skills are required **Our offer**: We offer an interesting position in an international and dynamic scientific environment. Salary is paid according to the German salary scheme for the public sector (TVöD Bund). It is a full-time position (100 %). The position is principally suited for part-time work.
