**What you'll do**

Be part of a cross-functional team of Data Science experts, including senior architects, data scientists, and product managers to shape and execute the generative AI strategy of the SAP Business Technology Platform. You will be expected to be on top of all the relevant developments in the field of generative AI, including the latest research, and translate this knowledge into value for the SAP Business Technology Platform.
- Provide technical expertise on foundational and large language models to development teams to develop generative AI based features.
- Explore generative AI space for potential use cases and recommend integration of features and functions to create value for customers.
- Carry out technical due diligence for the generative AI use cases by understanding requirements and performing feasibility studies using available LLMs.
- Build prototypes for selective use cases to prove technical feasibility and validate value proposition for each use case through internal and external stakeholder input - hands-on prototyping desired as well as supervising students
- Collaborate with other stakeholders inside and outside the company to understand other business and commercial aspects of implementing a use case - be active and visible in the community
- Support customer facing teams to understand their questions and concerns and address them.
- Influence the AI Strategy for SAP Business Technology Platform by participating in workshops and leadership meetings and provide expert advice.
- Actively engage with the external community, including University Research centers, open-source communities, etc. And bring in their perspective during internal planning

**What you bring**
- 9+ years of experience in the field of Computer Science or Information Technology.
- Extensive research experience in AI/ML (for example through a PhD or a post-doc in a relevant field)
- Applied AI/ML experience through work in start-ups or larger organizations
- Experience working with structured and unstructured databases, data pipeline implementation, and different ML tools and 3rd party services.
- Experience in leading teams, communicating requirements, and project timelines as well as prioritization based on stakeholder input

The Platform AI team under the motto “build and let build” has special focus on generative AI. It is part of the Technology & Innovation board area and part of BTP Foundation, which also hosts the main cross-cutting units with regards to BTP. The Business Technology Platform (BTP) is SAP’s platform for developing around SAP landscapes, for integration, and for everything around data. It is one of the biggest business units of SAP and certainly one of the most important ones for SAP’s success.

The goal of the team will be to be on top of the latest advancements in generative AI and to translate that into software output for BTP, resulting in value for customers and partners alike. It is a multidisciplinary team with high visibility, consisting of data scientists, designers, product managers, and developers and aims at the end-2-end delivery of gen AI cases in the context of BTP.
